PublicStuff uses US Census GIS data to create municipal boundaries for US clients, and the World Bank’s World DataBank to create boundaries for international clients. We recognize that municipal boundaries change over type and support updates to these boundaries.
Users can verify municipal borders by reviewing Map in PublicStuff Pro.
Municipal borders can be adjusted by following the procedure below:
- Create a KMZ or KML file of the new border. It should contain a single multi-polygon, and should be under 500 kb. The smaller the boundary file is, the better, since geographic data is often sent to or from mobile applications over wireless networks, where small file size is a top priority to ensure a positive user experience.
- Upload the KMZ file to as a new filter (follow instructions in Creating a Geographic Filter)
- Contact support@accela.com to create a ticket to update the boundaries. There is a behind-the-scenes process to follow in order to implement the changes - it's not an automatic update.
